Ashland High School is seeking a qualified candidate for its Technology Education program. This individual would be responsible for a wide range of course offerings with a starting focus of building construction and manufacturing. Future classes could include, but are not limited to: machine tool, material processing, power and energy, mechanical drawing and architectural drafting. This position requires a student focused, organized, positive and flexible person with a strong desire to help students succeed academically.
The Technology Education requires, but is not limited to the following:1. Wisconsin Certification #1220 – Technology Education (required) or ability to obtain
2. Wisconsin Certification #1291 – Technology Related Occupations) (preferred)
3. Certification or ability to receive certification for articulation to NWTC in welding.
4. Strong knowledge of welding, machine tool and construction.
5. Knowledge and experience in all other areas of technology education, including but not limited to architectural drafting, mechanical drawing, power and energy preferred.
6. Ability to forge positive relationships with parents/guardians of students and facilitate student/parent/teacher meetings as needed.
7. Ability to work collegially with other members of the Career and Technical Education Department, Student Services, administration, the faculty, maintenance staff and the community as needed.
8. Experience in developing, writing and evaluating curriculum preferred.
9. Knowledge of career clusters (pathways) and ability to work with Career and Technical Education Department colleagues to help implement.
10. Ability to be innovative in teaching.
11. Ability to forge positive relationships with student learners.
12. Other duties as assigned to evolve the Technology Education student offerings.
